The case of diabetes in Indonesia has again become a topic of discussion because many surroundings and loved people have diabetes. The high consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages in packets or so-called MBDK is one of the causes of diabetes.

The International Diabetes Foundation data shows that Indonesia is ranked 5th in 2021 with the most diabetes cases in the world, with the reported number of diabetes cases at around 19.5 million, and this number will predictably increase if not treated immediately. 1. Have a Healthy Diet

Some people have a preference for fast food, which is high in sugar and fat. These foods can be the cause of diabetes if consumed in excess. We can prevent it by consuming foods that have complete and balanced nutrition, which are carbohydrates, protein, fiber, good fats, minerals and vitamins.
2. Exercise Routinely
You can spend 15–30 minutes exercising every day as one of the ways to prevent diabetes, because exercise will help you to burn calories and store glucose in your muscles as energy reserves.
3. Drink More Water
Consuming lots of water is one of the ways to prevent diabetes, and you can start to decrease the consumption of drinks that contain high sugar levels, such as sodas and others.
4. Reduce Consumption of Sweet Products
Many people believe that sweets can relieve stress. However, if they are consumed excessively, they will lead to a weight increase and can be a trigger for diabetes. Therefore, reducing sweets can be one way to prevent diabetes.
5. Stop Smoking
According to some research, active smokers have a 44% higher risk of diabetes. If you are an active smoker, you may begin by reducing a little at a time, until you are able to stop smoking.
