Homecoming Prohibition Regulations Are Still In Violation

The government has officially imposed a ban on homecoming since May 6, 2021. Now the Indonesian police are trying to implement government regulations to prevent people from returning to their hometowns. However, entering the 3rd day of the implementation of the Lebaran homecoming ban in 2021, there have been many travelers who are desperate to travel to their hometowns.

In a viral video on the @lambeturah Instagram account, it shows that there are still many motorists who are breaking through the barricade that is guarded by officers at the Bekasi-Karawang border. If seen from the appropriate procedure, travelers should be asked to make a U-turn to return to their area of ​​origin. However, instead of turning back they gathered until they filled the road, so that the police were no longer able to hold them back from going home. 

It can be seen in the video that the officers on duty are overwhelmed in arranging for travelers passing by at the location. There were also a number of motorbikes driving in the opposite lane so that they passed other vehicles, either cars or cars from the direction of the lane.

This can be seen when the Commissioner General Arief along with Inspector General Kakorlantas Istiono, Kakorsabhara Baharkam Inspector Nana Afianto, as well as the Inspector General of Suwondo Nainggolan Baharkam Kakorbinmas perform air patrols in the Trans Java to monitor traffic flow securing the removal of Lebaran 2021.

From the observation results, Arief said that The condition of vehicle traffic exiting Jakarta to Java is observed to be normal and even tends to be quiet. Arief hopes that this condition can continue until the implementation of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah is complete.

According to Arief, the traffic conditions that tend to be quiet indicate that the government policy on the prohibition of going home is effective. The community is said to be following the policies of the government. Homecoming annihilation policy already in place starting from November 6–17 May. The elimination of homecoming aims to reduce transmission of COVID-19.
